2017 Peace Breakfast

Thank you to the following NOW Members who attended the Sunrise Peace Breakfast on December 7 at St. Leo University:

The keynote speaker was Melissa Dohme-Hill whose story you may have seen on 48 Hours. A teenage romance turned violent when they broke up. Unaware this is the most dangerous time for violence, Melissa agreed to meet her ex for a final hug. He used the opportunity to stab her multiple times. She only survived because of bystanders who called the police. Melissa has turned her tragedy into a calling as she educates teens on domestic violence.

The Breakfast had an empty table dressed in white with two chairs for those lost in Pasco in 2017. This event is always moving, and I highly recommend supporting the Sunrise Domestic & Sexual Violence Center even if you are unable to attend.
