Hi ya'll. Just returned from Sun City Anthem and took a few pics for the timeline (e-mailed to Laytonian). All the pics I took on Savannah Springs are from just about where Steven's car was found - I didn't want to park directly in front of the house in case anyone found my being there "appalling" KWIM? Just my thoughts after seeing this area with my own eyes. Totally agree with Naegle that there's no way Steven - or anyone else - would have been in this spot randomly. There are numerous other streets to turn into not nearly as far into Anthem. And as far as just abandoning the car goes, it just doesn't make any sense! There are boat loads of shopping and medical centers on either side of Eastern before you get into Anthem. There's no need to go that far into Anthem and out of Henderson. And it doesn't make any sense to me to have had someone pick him up there either. I also don't see this as a logical dumping ground for a car thief - it's just too far from anything! Saw lots of folks walking and jogging all over the place - but no one right there on Savannah Springs and Evening Lights. Seemed pretty quiet round there. I took a picture of the type of mailbox we discussed earlier - literally feet behind where Steven's car was found (there's a fire hydrant just a few feet in front of where the car was). As you go back down Savannah Springs and turn left onto Evening Lights, there's another mailbox just a bit down the street. Both of these had Steven's poster on the side. The next one a little further didn't. :-( When we came back out to Laurel Heights, we turned right - away from the entrance of Anthem and followed it until we came to a dead-end. There's a huge patch of desert there that kind of gave me the willies. Took some pics of that too. And I took a picture from there toward the city so you can see just how far out this area is. Just as we were leaving, some kids were heading into this desert on their bikes. Eeeek. I tried to find a good vantage point to take a pic of the foothills, but couldn't get close enough. Suffice it to say, walking to them from where that car was found would be no picnic and it's possible to get much closer if that was your destination. Same could be said if your destination was back to Henderson. On foot it would be very daunting. There are LOTS of areas within Anthem I believe should be searched - if they haven't been already. There are some very desert-y, rugged spots. One of them that I saw had a bike/walking trail running through it, but I couldn't tell how far in it would go. There are a lot of very rocky areas inside Anthem and a lot plants and bushes.
