Semester Exam Informative Speech

Objective:  Student will give an organized and structured speech to inform the audience about how web 2.0 tools can be used in business.  Credible support must be used and attribution for sources must be given throughout the speech.

Prepare and deliver an informative speech.  Students will brainstorm for a topic, create an outline, create one note card, and will deliver a three to five minute informative speech.  Each student will video record his/her speech before the end of class on December 16, 2010.

Scoring:

Outline (Mr. Langley’s format must be used)                   40 points

Delivery                                                                            160 points

Attention Getter – 10 points

Introduction – 10 points

Support – 100 points

Conclusion – 10 points

Closing Statement – 10 points

Voice – 10 points

Eye Contact – 10 points

Total                            200 points

Any speaker who delivers a speech that is less than three minute will receive no points in the support category – a total best possible score of 50%.

Reminder:  the key to a successful speech is organization and rehearsing.
