Stuff Exchange

We seek those who'll make valuable use of our durable top load Washing Machines or parts.

Videos to clarify the condition of devices we have

All are Commercial Coin Operated Top Load Cloths Washing Machines

Of 4 Speed Queen Model WA4971L Washing Machines, only the 1 Keda Machine has full functions with no leak.

1 Kenmore Washing Machine operates, yet we fail to find a correct adapter for a coin slide to trigger the cycle timer switch.

Keda Washer -- Speed Queen WA4971L, Works yet I haven't located source of tapping sound

      Complete with Greenwald coin vault drawer and timer access keys.

      Ran a few tests {Test 2: pt1, pt2, pt3 tapping noise, pt4;

                                 Test 3: pt1, pt2;

                                 Test 4: pt} better light with cover open doing full load}

Ekklesia Kenmore Washer -- Works, but cover screws lose and needs coin slide adapter. Fairly sure Maytag made this. The open door shutoff switch is not active.

       Ran a few tests {Test 1: pt1, pt2}

We lack ESD keys to 2 Washer Machines. One is verified to work, but we have no lock on it because drilling out the coin vault lock has not opened it.

Non-functional machines for parts:

Main House Washer is broken-- Speed Queen WA4971L test2start & test2Conclusion

        The timer takes hours too long. It fails to run Agitation nor drainage pump, yet the motor runs to spin well.

        I doubt anyone wants all the test footage of this. I need to learn how to swap in a decent timer.

E-Shop Washer Speed Queen WA4971L with motor installed. I drilled out the timer access hatch & coin drawer locks to test. This has not let me remove the drawer.

E-Shop washer, Speed Queen WA4971L without motor -- testing with no motor is less simple than simply to run it. I have not drilled out the coin vault because it is only truly valuable if one gets the right ESD key.

We wait to sell a direct drive Whirlpool Design2000 washer machine that we fail to open with Greenwald keys we find.

We have more than we need of some parts in common with dryers we use:

4 Door switches

8 extra coin slide devices that operate smoothly +  4 more with useful spare parts.

{4x ESD coin slides accept up to 4 vertical coins.

 1x Greenwald slide accepts 2 flat quarters

 1x Maytag coin slide

 2x Vertical Coin Slides can be set up to accept >$1 and include a dime with the quarters.}

We might sell an Electric Dryer in exchange for help getting a newer Dryer's vault door open.

Many students buy certain essential things while fully aware that moving soon involves disposing of stuff. Often another visiting scholar, traveling laboratory assistant, exchange student, or transfer student will need similar stuff here.

When leaving our Coop, pass what you leave behind directly to others or clearly label anything left for others to share, recycle, or trade for stuff we need. Otherwise clutter makes work asking each other "is this yours?" "may we dispose of it?" or "may I take it to my room?" If one wants to take something shared with them, or give it to a friends, a House Coordinator or Coop Director can determine a price. Some will "sell or rent" a desirable desk with a signed slip that one can use to get most the money back upon return. This is particularly true of those who move in and out of our coop to accommodate research assignments and visiting family.

Arrimage

Annual Yard Sales turn clutter -- unused for 3 years -- into stuff residents want, but these can't display everything stored here.

The Sustainability Director continues to sell stuff upon request year around as time permits. Ask Brian 651 603-0325

We want to get rid of particle board and huge heavy furniture, as we try to acquire durable real wood furniture that is portable in light parts around old homes and fits in our smallest bedrooms. For the right price we part with stuff we use. High prices may indicate the cost of what we'd buy to replace an item if it is worth more to someone else, but are negotiable if we stop using the item.
