Onychogomphus costae

Recorded in five 10km squares to the end of 2015.

I first saw the species on 18th June 2009 at Tajo del Molino - the first submitted record for Málaga province although earlier observations came to light later. In July 2015 I found them breeding in a new square on the río Guadalhorce at Las Mellizas but their flight season was over when I arrived on 8th September. In 2016 I saw them up to 12th September. They are no doubt on other suitable sections of the Guadalhorce but it is a difficult river to access.
