Boot problems

Finding the Cause

When the machine boots, and shows the GRUB boot loader timer (counting backwards), hit the up arrow key.

This will show a list of booting entries.

    1. Select the kernel entry that is causing the booting problems.

    2. Type the letter 'a' on the keyboard. This will show the command line to load the kernel.

    3. Delete rhgb and quiet from the end of the line.

    4. Type 'vga=1' at the end of that same line.

This will allow you to see in text mode what the kernel is doing, and where it stops.

With that information, now visible on screen, you can search the Internet for a solution to your booting problem.
