1 Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant?

3 And send against them swarms of flying creatures,

4 Which pelted them with stones of baked clay,

5 So He rendered them like straw eaten up? {In this chapter Muhammad reminds his followers of an Abyssinian Emperor who with an army led by elephants supposedly tried to destroy the Kabbah. On that occasion Allah destroyed them using flying creatures hurling stones. He used it to encourage his followers that they would one day overcome the might of the Meccans and reduce them to nothing, which he eventually did.}
