Thanks

Great that you made it here! This page has been here, but apparently too well hidden, since the first day of the DONE Retiree Website. Apparently, not many folks actually found it.

So, how did we get to this Website? MANY thanks are in order.

After being retired for a little over two years, I began to feel that I wasn't getting as much info about other Retirees and the old workplace as I used to.

I had been doing a Website for my wife's weaving Guild, and I'm into computers (a surprise to you all) and I'm also on Jim Shay's email list for IDOT Retirees, so I started thinking about a Website for District One IDOT Retirees.

I did a little Website mockup and mentioned the idea one time when I was talking to Linda Petersen. Then, I kind of dropped the idea because I started thinking it was kind of stupid.

In time, I had a chance to see Roy Fonda, and he talked to me about it; apparently, Linda mentoned it to him and he remembered the conversation.

So, Roy and I talked about it a little and then I saw Sandy and Bob Holub and mentioned it to them. Both Roy and the Holub's took a look at the Website mockup. They all were supportive and provided tremendous inspiration.

And here we are. I want to send thanks to.................

...Linda Petersen who provided support, thought the idea was interesting, provided reviews and kept the idea alive by talking with Roy.

...Roy Fonda, who talked to me after he spoke with Linda, provided support, many reviews (those who worked for him remember him as Mr. Red Pen for his meticulous corrections [grin]), tremendous feedback, corrections and great ideas for additional content.

...The Holubs, Sandy and Bob, who provided their support, reviews and ideas about how to push this forward.

...Cathy Valente, who provided reviews and information on how to contact a number of D1 Retirees.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU; this wouldn't have been possible without each of you.

Additionally, retiree lists from Jack Ryder and Dora Lee Johnson helped a lot. Publicity of the DONE Website from Jim Shay and the Retired State Employees Association was very generous and helpful as well.

And thanks to everyone who contributes information - all our Retirees thank you.
