Hoad Shield 29 April

Mirror like conditions welcomed twenty one teams to Bough Beech SC for the 2010 Hoad Shield. With the briefing out of the way, the race committee struggled long and hard with the decision as to when to launch and start racing. With the breeze filling in from every direction it was not until nearly 1400 that things had settled enough for racing to commence.

Some very close racing followed, albeit a little slow at times. Although the wind continued to shift throughout the afternoon, sufficient races were completed for a result to be declared. The beauty of the new Hebbert-Lucas scheduling system allowed a full set of results after just twenty one races – something deemed impossible with earlier scheduling solutions.
