Radial Terminator

Too Many Radials To Terminate In A Conventional Ground Clamp...Here Is The Solution

Terminator for Radial or Counterpoise Wires

Most vertical antennas require a number of radial or counterpoise wires in order to reduce the ground resistance and make them operate at maximum efficiency. The general idea is that more radials are better than less. However, terminating more than just a few wires on your ground system quickly becomes a problem.

To solve this situation you need to purchase a "fender washer" of appropriate size. Fender washers have a much larger outside diameter for a given inside diameter than do regular washers. Next, drill a series of small holes around the perimeter of the washer (see the diagram). Insert your radial wires in these holes and solder them in place.

Now you can bolt this terminating washer to the top of your ground rod or mast and mount the vertical antenna on top of that.
