Tom de Koning

Background

2004 Started working in the software industry as a SQL Developer, immediate interest in self-improvement and read a lot of books on SQL programming.

2005 Switched from SQL programming to ASP.NET programming. The paradigma change was quite hard initially. Often frustrated when things broke for no reaon. Development should be better than this.

2007 Moved to consultancy and encountered TDD, BDD and Dependency Injection. Quickly started to evangelize the benefits of testing, SOLID principles and DI. Combined the reading lists of Jean Paul Boodhoo and Billy McAfferty into one and set myself to reading all books on it.

2008 Moved to Avanade (consultancy again) and continued evangelizing Agile aspects among colleagues. Gave some guest lectures on TDD and Kanban at higher education schools. Next to technical books focussed more on self-improvement books like Speedreading, Getting things done, The Trusted Advisor and the likes.

2011 Moved to Parkmobile to deepen technical knowledge and finally take the plunge in an Agile team.
