Die Tänzerin Mojca Majcen wird sowohl als zeitgenössische Tänzerin mit klassischenm Background, als auch schauspielerisch gefordert. das Stück setzt sich aus persönlichen Erfahrungen der Tänzerin, sowie ihrer Familie und Freunden während des Yugoslawienkrieges zusammen. Uraufgeführt in Kalifornien und New York ist Moki`s Wedding erstmals in Wien zu sehen.
Moki’s Wedding was created while Mojca Majcen was in residence with ArtBark in January/February of 2012 and has been performed in California in the cities of Santa Barbara and Pasadena as well as in New York. The work is politically charged, poetic, dramatic, and theatrical. Moki’s Wedding showcases Mojca’s breadth of skills as an actress and as contemporary dancer with impeccable classical technique. Moki’s Wedding draws from Mojca’s life experiences as well as the experiences of family and friends in times of war & civil unrest. Misa Kelly is a creativity specialist with a penchant for building international arts community through organizing events that not only provide a platform to share ArtBark's work but that of equally passionate creative beings. She has engaged in over 150 projects ranging from co-creating and producing the SB-ADaPT Festival to touring the U.S. with travels to Europe to teach and perform.
Mojca Majcen (SLO)| Ballerina und zeitgenössische Tänzerin, Preisträgerin vieler Tanzwettbewerbe zwischen Tokyo und Belgrad. Von Venedig über Chile nach Bejing tanzte sie in mehr als 30 internationalen Festivals. Im letzten Jahr wurde sie mit dem artistic achievement award der Stadt Celje ausgezeichnet und vom Slowenischen Publikum als herrausragendste Tänzerin gewählt.
Mojca Majcen, ArtBark Collaborator, dancer/ballerina, Laureate of many competitions - from Tokyo to Belgrade - has appeared at more than 30 international festivals from Venice to Chile to Bejing. In the past year, she received an award for artistic achievement from the City Council of Celje, and was also voted the outstanding female dancer by the Slovenian public.
