Honors Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is a select honors-level choral ensemble open to students in grades 9-12 by annual audition. Chamber Choir meets every other day for 80 minutes. This class allows students to demonstrate a growing understanding of musical concepts that include tone, rhythm, harmony, tonality, texture, form, melody, and music in a historical and contemporary context. It provides students with the opportunity to experience varied ensemble groupings and to develop and understand relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside of the arts. Attendance at all concerts and scheduled performances is mandatory. All Chamber Choir students are required to audition for either District III Honors Chorus or All-State, or if they choose to do so, they can audition for both. Chamber Choir may be taken for more than one year, pending a successful re-audition with the director at the end of each year.
