Grievance Process

In the event that a Participating Teacher has a concern or complaint about aspects of the Induction process or program that cannot be resolved with or through the mentor, the following process will be followed.

Step1: Informal Complaint

Participating Teacher meets with Program Director to discuss the concerns and work towards resolution.

Step 2: Formal Complaint Process

  • If the issue is not resolved informally (Step 1), a written complaint may be filed with the Program Director using the Grievance Form.
  • The Program Director will conduct an investigation and meet with all parties within 15 working days of receipt of the complaint.
  • After the meeting, the Program Director will send a written response to the complainant within three working days.

Step 3: Appeal to the Induction Steering Committee

  • If unresolved at Step 2, the complainant may file an appeal with the Induction Steering Committee using the same Grievance Form.
  • The Induction Steering Committee will conduct an investigation and meet with the complainant within 15 working days upon receipt of the complaint.
  • After the meeting, the Induction Steering Committee will prepare a written response to the complainant within 20 working days.
