Induction Director - Role and Responsibilities

  • Plays a leadership role in the design and implementation of the approved Induction program

  • Develops and maintains a professional support program that enables each Induction participant to acquire skills, abilities and knowledge necessary to be successful in the classroom

  • Obtains and disseminates information from the State Induction program, local Induction programs, and teacher preparation programs

  • Attends Cluster meetings and state Induction conference, as applicable

  • Facilitates monthly Induction Mentor meetings

  • Manages Induction budget, implements Memorandum of Understanding, between the participating districts and PAUSD and adheres to State and District reporting requirements

  • Coordinates professional growth unit documentation in conjunction with each district’s Human Resources Division

  • Facilitates the sharing of research and new information about beginning teaching practices

  • Facilitates the coach hiring process (in PAUSD)

  • Implements an effective program assessment process

  • Provides training and facilitates meetings, as needed, for Participating Teachers, Mentors, Administrators, and Induction Professional Learning providers

  • Monitors completion of Induction program evaluation requirements

  • Monitors PT program participation in meeting Professional Credential completion requirements

  • Coordinates the Individualized Learning Plan review process

  • Manages the Induction database

  • Serves as link with the participating district Principals, District Administration, Induction Mentors and Participating Teachers

Induction Steering Committee - Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the goals of the Program

  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust the Program as needed to maintain its quality

  • Foster the collaborative relationship between all stakeholders, including program staff, members of the consortium districts, and the broader educational community

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Meet quarterly, or as needed, to meet Program goals

  • Ensure that the Program continues to meet the requirements as defined by the CTC

  • Listen to recommendations from other Induction Program stakeholders and make suggestions as appropriate

  • Review and make decisions about Early Completion Option applications

Human Resources-- Credentials/Hiring Analyst

  • Facilitate communication and collects documents through hiring process

  • Verify credentialing status of all new hires

  • Identify teachers eligible for Induction Program

  • Coordinate with Induction Director to generate and keep accurate lists of Participating Teachers

  • Make online recommendations to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing for California Clear Credentials based on:

    • receipt of completed and signed 41-Induction Form from the Induction Director

    • verification that all CTC renewal requirements have been satisfied
