Spotlight: Kagan, Wonders, Eureka Math, Writing

Hello and welcome to my classroom! I have been teaching in OMSD for 25 years, with all of my experience being in Kindergarten and First Grade. A goal that I have year after year in my classroom is to inspire students to be creative, independent individuals who positively contribute to their communities and grow up to be lifelong learners. One of the first steps in achieving this goal is to allow students to have a voice in the classroom. To help facilitate this, I plan and strategize my lessons so that the students have opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations with partners or in small groups. Students need to know that their voices matter and that they are valued and respected. I consistently strive to create a learning environment that encourages and educates the whole child emotionally, physically and cognitively. 

I am excited to partner with teachers across the district and engage in meaningful conversations. My focus this year will be differentiating instruction for the strategic learners in Wonders, Eureka math fluency and core instruction, writing, and implementation of Kagan structures throughout all lessons.
