I have thirty years of classroom experience in OMSD. I began as an instructional aide while attending college. After graduating from Pitzer College in 1988, I found myself wondering exactly what career path I wanted to take. In the meantime, I decided to become a substitute teacher. One thing led to another and I found a permanent home here in the district. I began at Corona Elementary School and, after two years, I joined the Monte Vista staff. After a short break from teaching to be home with my children, I became part of the Euclid family and teach 5th grade! (And, yes, we really are a family!)
During my years at Monte Vista Elementary, I began a program at the Claremont Graduate School and pursued my clear teaching credential, as well as a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. In addition, I have a BCLAD credential.
I absolutely love being in the classroom and being a Spotlight Teacher has given me the opportunity to engage professionally with other educators.
