Melissa Hernandez

Welcome!  My name is Melissa Hernandez and I am beginning my 14th year of teaching at Ramona Communication Arts Academy in OMSD.  I've had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade.  This year I am teaching 2nd grade. Throughout my years in education, I have always strived to create a positive classroom environment; one which helps my students feel welcome and loved.  My instructional emphasis is centered around our school's focus: communication arts.  I enjoy teaching writing as a means of communication and encourage collaborative conversations across different subject areas with the use of Kagan strategies.  I am excited to be a part of the Spotlight team and I look forward to welcoming you to my classroom!
