I have taught Preschool for 26 years, and 22 of those years in OMSD. I am very passionate about meeting my students Social Emotional needs, and preparing them for academic success. My educational strengths are conflict resolution strategies, early literacy, Preschool Learning Foundations in all content areas, AVID, and parent involvement. My instructional emphasis is centered around our school's focus: Inquiry and Play Based Instruction, and AVID. I help my students to develop interdisciplinary skills in that will lead to academic success and life long learning. I use Kagan strategies in my learning environment to help my students build their communication skills. in addition, my classroom has a strong focus on outdoor learning experiences in our five distinct school gardens. I recently wrote and received Big Green Jumpstart Grant and Stater Bros. We also closley work with nearby community garden Huerta del Valle. I'm excited to be part of the Spotlight team and I look forward to welcoming you to my classroom.
