SPOTLIGHT CLASSROOMS MISSION

Spotlight Classrooms are an internal model of instructional support, which can take place as a classroom visit during the regular school day, through a video visit, during PLCs at a school site, or as a complement to schoolwide PDs aligned with district initiatives.  This team of Ontario-Montclair School District teachers is willing to open their classrooms in order to be a resource for learning. 

While the team is not expected to be perfect in their practice, they are willing to take a risk so that all OMSD teachers, both veteran and new, have access to participate in discussions around pedagogy.  Guest teachers are expected to come to the Spotlight Classroom with a willingness to learn and an Inquiry in mind.  Our goal is to provide a professional development model that is an authentic opportunity for colleagues to observe best practices with our students.  Spotlight Classrooms will give teachers the opportunity to learn from one another and share effective teaching practices in a collaborative manner.
