School Day

Below is an example of a typical day at Maldon Primary School.

Children attend assembly everyday where they learn about festivals, celebrations, faiths around the world as well as keeping in touch with current affairs. Friday assemblies are a shining star assemblies where we celebrate children's achievements from the week.

Phonics is taught daily across key stage 1.

At breaktime and lunchtime children have the opportunity to take part in organised games on the playground, free play, access our ICT suite and our Starlight room. The Starlight room is a quieter place where children can socialise and take part in calmer structured activities.

At the end of the school day each class is read to by their teacher to instill the love of reading and getting lost in a story together.
