Beat Goes on!

On Friday 17th June, all of our children got to take part in a music workshop led by a member of the West End musical STOMP! During the workshop, we got taught how to make different sounds using different parts of our body: this is a skill called body percussion. We really enjoyed our workshop and learning how to create lots of exciting different sounds!

Classroom Revamp

We were very excited this week to receive our brand new tables and chairs for every classroom. The children were very excited to find out what colour their year group would be! What's happening to the old tables and chairs I hear you ask! Don't worry they are not going to waste! Mrs Sapsed has arranged for a charity to collect them all so they can go to children who need them in many different countries including Somalia and Uganda.

The Platinum Jubilee

On Thursday 26th May, we celebrated the Queens Jubilee at Maldon Primary School! Each class did a range of different activities in order to learn all about the Queens life, we learnt the national anthem and we had a Jubilee picnic lunch as a school with music representing the different decades the queen has ruled. We all had a fantastic day!

Remembrance Sunday 2021

On Sunday 14th November our Head Girls gave up their own time to join me in representing our school at Maldon Town Council's Act of Remembrance and Wreath laying. The girls laid a wreath on behalf of our school community.

This year also commemorates the Centenary of the formation of The Royal British Legion.

The Princess Trust

A huge congratulations to one of our Year 6 pupils who had her beautiful long hair cut to donate to charity. She did this to support The Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment or other illnesses. Not only did she donate her hair, but she also raised £700 to donate to the cost of making the wig! What a kind and generous thing to do and certainly exemplifies our Maldon 5 value of recognising that everyone is important!

Young Carers Award

This week we were awarded our Bronze Young Carer award. We are looking forward to displaying this in school!

Red Nose Day

Today we supported red nose day by dressing as superheroes, wearing red or coming as the super hero that we are! Check back soon to find out how much we raised!

Welcome Back!

The children have been settling back into school life brilliantly! They have adapted to the changes that have been made including our new phonics and maths sessions with ease. We are incredibly proud of each and every pupil and how they have settled back into the new 'normal'!
