Enrollment Procedures - You must have an appointment, your registration packet must be completed. One can be mailed to you or you can download the online forms. Please bring the following items:

  1. Transcript grades from previous school if new to Cheney School District.
  2. Withdraw grades from current school (once school has begun).
  3. Please call us if you would like a packet mailed or stop in and pick up a packet in the Counseling Center OR download the online forms below.
  4. You will be given an appointment date & time during this call. Thank you!

Welcome to Cheney High School!

We are very excited to meet with you.

Please verify that you live in our attendance area by checking with our transportation department at 559.4523 before completing the registration packet.

Please make sure that your student has withdrawn from classes at your current school, returned all books and supplies, and paid any outstanding fees and fines prior to registering at CHS. Not attending to these important items can lead to delays in obtaining records.

Registration is by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled on regular school days between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm. Summer hours may vary, please call 559.4008 to confirm that we are open.Once all required forms are completed, please return the packet to CHS and we will assist you in scheduling a registration appointment. You must have the students transcripts and once the school year has begun, you must have withdrawal grades.

If your student has a current IEP or is a 504 student, please call our Teaching and Learning Department at 559.4507.

  • Proof of age: A birth certificate or other official verification of age (such as a passport or visa) is required for students who have not previously enrolled in school.
  • Proof of residency: This can be a current driver's license or a current utility bill with your home address.
  • Registration forms: These are available above and at the school. Using these online forms will allow you to enter your student’s information, save it to your desktop, and print. You will not be able to email this to the school or save your information online.
      • Vaccines are required for school in grades K-12. Visit Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) for more information about immunizations. Information about a medical, religious, philosophical or personal exemption from immunizations is available from the district’s Health Services department at 354-7298. On the Washington State Department of Health website on which you can access your family's immunization information.

To register for school, please print ALL of the documents included in the links above OR come in and pick up a registration packet. An appointment will be made to enroll your student once we receive the COMPLETED packet at the school. You must bring transcripts and withdraw grades from previous school. Before your last day of school, at the school you are leaving, let them know you will be withdrawing and that you must have your grades & transcripts in order to be given credit and placed into the proper classes.


We will also need the following items if they apply:

  • Parenting plan (if applicable - parental guardianship or custodial designation)
  • Withdrawal grades (if enrolling after school has begun)
  • SBAC/EOC scores, out of state test scores, or a Washington Learning Plan
  • IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)
