Introducing Lynn

Lynn arranged her shelves carefully, all the picture books together by author's last name, all chapter books together also by author, and all nonfiction by subject, the subjects themselves were arranged by their relationship to each other. She then tidied up her plushies, taxonomically, with mythological ones sorted by country of mythological origin. Her dolls were arranged by their full names, last name first where present. Her clothes were sorted by season, size, color, pattern, and how much she liked them.

It may seem like she was a tad obsessive for a 2nd grader, or that her parents were very strict, but neither could be further from the truth. Lynn was merely order incarnate, anything less than that level of organization gave her hives.

Introducing Mira

Mira sighed. Why should she have to clean her room? She could find everything just fine, so what if 43% of it was on the floor?  Mommy and Daddy said she had to, so she set to work, or she wouldn't get any dessert with dinner. She picked the books up first, and set them haphazardly on a shelf after pushing its existing contents to one side. Plushies and dolls were tossed on her bed, and clothes into the hamper. She decided that was good enough and flopped down on the bed. Almost immediately a stack of papers on her desk fell onto the floor. She grumbled a bit and picked them up, shoving them in the bottom drawer. 

Her mom walked in. "Mira, honey, how is your room coming?"

"Look, mommy, the books are on the shelves like you asked!"

"That is nice, honey, but you should straighten them a bit, leaning them like that will ruin the bindings."

Mira tried setting them up neatly, and every time she got them together they would fall on the floor. Mira dissolved in tears.

Seems like she is rather clumsy, disorganized, and unlucky, doesn't it? In reality, her powers are of chaos and mostly unchecked. She is allergic to order in the same way her sister is allergic to chaos.
