Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) is a federally sponsored program available to select high schools across the nation to provide the opportunity to for students to learn basic elements of citizenship and leadership. NJROTC is a four-year program open to all students of all grades, offering a unique opportunity to develop leadership qualities and foster a strong sense of patriotism.
While the training is along military lines, it is conducted so as to encourage initiative and individuality to develop natural gifts, to teach self-control, develop personal character, responsibility and qualities of integrity, loyalty, and dedication.
Zion-Benton Township High School's Navy Junior ROTC (NJROTC) unit finished first in a dominating performance at the 2020 NJROTC Area 3 West Regional Academic, Athletic and Drill Competition at Recruit Training Command (RTC) here, Feb. 29.
