各位同學、家長：
大家好！新學期已經開始了，很高興今年將由我們來教三年級的中文。在新學年第一單元，我們將會作以下安排：
1. 我們將使用新版課本《我愛學語文》（第二版）三上第1冊。
2. 同學們將會學習課文《北風和太陽》、《農夫的遺產》、《戰勝自己是一種快樂》和《修路工人》。
3. 除課文外，我們同時會進行説話、聆聽教學，同學們也會學習成語、古詩及寫作寓言故事。
4. 第一學期有兩次默書，一次小測。詳情請見稍後上傳至Google Classroom的默測範圍。

All P3s, welcome back to school! The theme of our first unit is ‘Environment’. In this unit, we are going to learn about 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) and the writing text type is recount. For grammar, students will consolidate their knowledge about past tense and present tense. We’ll learn something new like the present continuous tense and the imperative sentences. We will lift the reading comprehension skill of comparing and contrasting to a higher level. Students will also learn to identify author’s purpose of writing in paragraphs. For the phonics, we’ll focus on phonemes: r/rr/wr/.

In unit 1, P3 will learn about 5-digit numbers, kilometer, millimeter, choosing appropriate measuring tools, revision of basic multiplication, multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number, multiplying a 3-digit number by a 1-digit number and problems related to time.
Welcome back, everyone! In Unit 1, we'll be learning about the living environment in Hong Kong and what we can do to save energy and be eco-friendly. As this is the focus of the cross-curricular project this year, we’ll be teaching Chapter 3 and 4 of ‘Under the Same Sky’ first. Then we’ll cover Chapter 1 and 2, discussing different kinds of housing in HK and our role in keeping our communities clean and pleasant to live in!
