Jazz Festival

On March 21, 2025, YHS hosted the annual jazz festival. 13 bands attended, including : Possibly Future Alumni, YIMS, Harrold MS, Franklin Regional MS, Greater Latrobe HS, Steel City Youth Jazz Ensemble, Yough Alumni Jazz, Mount Pleasant HS, Hempfield HS, Norwin HS, Franklin Regional HS, Yough HS, and Duquesne University Jazz Ensemble. The songs we played were Giddyup!, Misty, and Higher Ground. Yough soloists included Cullen Cooper on trombone, Maddie Kolenc on flute, Josh Hall on trumpet, Enzo Pernelli on drumset, Lizzy Olexic on vocals, and Vinny Toscano on guitar. Thank you to all the amazing bands that attended!
Music's Tennessee Trip

From April 2nd to April 5th, 2025, the Yough Marching Band and choir had a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They did many exciting things, such as performing at Dollywood, going to the Titanic Museum, shopping at The Island, and having a show dinner at the Pirates Voyage. Thank you to all staff and chaperones for making this trip possible!
Fine Arts Festival

On May 1, 2025, Yough Senior High School held the annual Fine Arts Festival. Students’ artwork was displayed throughout the school, accompanied by music from our bands and choirs. The groups that performed were the YIMS jazz band, YIMS concert band, YIMS choir, YHS jazz band, YHS concert band, YHS choir, and YHS chamber choir. Solos from the band include Vinny Toscano on guitar and Lizzy Olexic on vocals. Songs the choir performed were Aura Lee, and Wake Me A Song. Songs from the chamber choir include Nyon Nyon, Africa, Wanting Memories, Clear Blue Morning, and Crowded Table. Solos from the choir included Lizzy Olexic in Clear Blue Morning. The concert band and choir combined sang Sogno di Volare. Congratulations to all of these talented artists and musicians who participated!
