Carli Reisinger, a senior at Yough Senior High School and the current editor of the journalism club, was recently interviewed to gain insight into her role. Carli’s involvement extends to several school activities, including the Lady Cougar soccer team, serving as a sports medicine assistant, President of the Yough Broadcasting Network, Vice-President of "The Future is Mine", Vice-President of Prom Committee, CAP/SADD, National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, and Senior Mentoring. In her leisure time, she enjoys going to the gym, hiking, hanging out with friends, and taking her dog on runs. When asked about the changes in the journalism club since she joined, Carli noted, “When I joined the journalism club in my freshman year, there were no upperclassmen. It was only Sidney, Julie, and I.” Regarding the impact of her editor role on her future, Carli stated, "Being the editor-in-chief taught me how to take accountability, communicate with others, and overall, how to become a leader.” Carli plans to attend Duquesne University to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy after high school. When asked if she would continue with publications in college, she responded,"I most definitely believe that I will join the broadcasting network team and possibly the newspaper.” Carli's advice to the journalism club is, “‘To be the best, you have to beat the best." I apply this quote to all aspects of my life: either give it 100%, or nothing at all.” The journalism club expresses its gratitude to Carli for all of her dedication and hard work to the publications and wishes her success in her future endeavors.

Our next senior for journalism is on our Co-Editor, Sidney Bergman. Sidney is such a huge part of our school community. She’s the President of CAP/SADD, Vice President of TFIM and the 2025 senior class, and the Corresponding Secretary of NHS. She’s also a member of the Student Council, Yough Broadcasting Network, Spanish National Honor Society, and Art National Honor Society. Outside of clubs, Sidney played Varsity Soccer in both her junior and senior year, and made Varsity Track this year. On top of all that, she runs her own business, volunteers as a coach, and does different hobbies when she has the time. She plans to attend Penn State University with their 2+2 program for chemical engineering while playing softball. Sidney says one of her favorite parts of high school was taking almost all the AP classes offered at the high school. She says it was hard but worth it. Her advice to others is, “Never give up. People love you and care about you so much, and you don’t even know it. Life is so full of opportunities, take every single one while you’re young.” Thank you, Sidney, for all the hard work you’ve done for our school paper. We appreciate you and will miss you!
