Immediately following experimental procedures, it is common to include data listings which provide characterisation data for compounds in a compact text form. This method to communicate characterisation data in this format arose from when the sharing of data was only possible in a paper format, and the inclusion of spectra in full would have been prohibitively expensive. Despite this limitation no longer being the case (and indeed it is now routine to present all analytical data in a processed format within supplementary information),
