Yampah Teen Parent Program

TEEN PARENT PROGRAM MISSION: In a safe and caring community of their peers, pregnant and parenting teens are provided with education in the best practices of parenting education and early childhood development.  We support teens involved in the program to become self-reliant, involved citizens in their communities while working towards their high school diploma.  The children of enrolled teen parents are nurtured on-site in high quality infant and toddler programs.

The Yampah Teen Parent Program is a program offered by the member school districts of Colorado River BOCES in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The program is designed to support teen parents who are attending high school and provide them with resources and educational opportunities to help them succeed. Serves approximately 15-20 students and their families.


The program offers a variety of services to teen parents, including childcare, transportation, and academic support. Childcare services are provided on-site at Yampah Mountain High School, allowing teen parents to attend classes and participate in extracurricular activities while their children are being cared for. Transportation services are also provided to help teen parents get to and from school and other appointments.


Academic support is a key component of the Yampah Teen Parent Program. The program provides a dedicated Advisor who works with teen parents to develop personalized learning plans and help them stay on track to graduate. The program also offers classes in parenting skills, child development, and life skills to help teen parents build the skills and knowledge they need to be successful parents.


In addition to these services, the Yampah Teen Parent Program also provides resources and referrals to help teen parents access community services and support, such as healthcare, housing, and financial assistance.
