Welcome to the Our Lady Queen of the World Catholic Academy Chaplaincy site! This space is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual life of our school community.
Here, students and families can connect with our chaplains, explore opportunities for prayer and reflection, and stay informed about upcoming Masses, retreats,
and faith-based initiatives. Whether you're seeking guidance, inspiration, or a moment of peace, our Chaplaincy team is here to support you on your journey.
As part of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) requirements and our Catholic commitment to service, all students must complete a minimum of 40 hours of Christian Community Service between the summer after Grade 8 and the end of Grade 12
1.
At YCDSB, this service is more than a requirement—it’s a way for students to live out their faith, support their communities, and grow as Disciples of Christ. Students are encouraged to complete 10 hours per year, and service activities should reflect values of charity, justice, and compassion.
To document their hours, students must use the Record of Christian Community Service form, which includes:
Organization and contact details
Description of duties performed
Verification signatures
Confirmation of whether the activity is on the approved list
📌 Important Notes:
Service must be completed outside instructional hours (e.g., lunch, evenings, weekends, holidays).
Activities not on the approved list require prior approval from the principal or designate.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to support and monitor their child’s service efforts.

The parish offers many opportunities for worship, service, and community
involvement. We encourage all families to stay connected and engaged with parish life.
As part of our commitment to nurturing compassionate, responsible, and engaged young people, all secondary students are required to complete 40 hours of Christian Community Service prior to graduation. These hours are meant to encourage students to give back to their communities in meaningful ways that reflect the values of service, empathy, and social responsibility.
