Purpose:
To demonstrate understanding of the structure for each of YOUR features: eyes, nose, & mouth;
To practice using black & white charcoal to render a drawing, using brown paper as the middle value
I think that I need to work on contrast. Looking at my Eyes, Nose, and Mouth drawings, I noticed that the detail was there, but it was kind of hard to see it due to all the mixed colors. I really need to focus on lighter shading, and then add in dark shading when it is absolutely necessary, for example, the pupil of the eye. The pupil of the eye is noticeably darker than any other part of it. So I just need to work on defining the contrast more, and I truly think it will help it look more realistic. Additionally, I need to work on shadowing. The shadowing is what truly brings attention to the light and realism of the eye, and I think that if I am able to capture it the best I can, it will have a better outcome.
