To understand value by creating a good range of values between black & white to help make the objects appear 3D;
To demonstrate quality craftsmanship and good composition skills in a drawing.

Reflection
I used cross hatching in my drawing. I liked this because I found it to be the best way to add value to my piece. This is similar to Giorgio Morandi’s work and the way he used cross hatching. I thought it was easier to add value this way because it was pretty simple. The more lines you have the more value you get.
I notice my drawing has become a lot more balanced. In my pre-instructional one it is very unbalanced but in my final everything is even. I also notice my lines have become straightener. For example, on the block in the pre instructional one, one line would go one direction and the other wouldn’t go parallel. I learned during this unit how to overall better my self as a drawer and not rush things.
