Smoke-Fired Form

Purpose: Experience an ancient method of creating surface decoration for bisqued clay.

Reflection:

Glaze makes the surface smooth and shiny.  Smoke made it more dull and is less smooth than when it is glazed.  I could have added less plants and leaves because if I did, the ones I had would have been more prominent.   You have to wax the smoke-fired form.  This is to make it smooth and bring out the colors and plants in the piece.
