Goals:
I am inspired to make art by pieces of art I wish I could make or simply pieces of art I am interested in. For drawing or painting, this is a landscape painting that is so good it looks like a photo. This inspires me mostly because I have no idea where I would even start to make something like that and I am interested in what the process looks like. What inspired me to learn about ceramics was plates and bowls because it seemed to me that you could make so many different things. You not only paint a piece with glaze but also create the piece that you are painting. Here is one of my pieces from Ceramics 1:
I am hoping to learn to create realistic art. I have not had any practice drawing or painting outside of school, so I know I have a lot of room to grow and a lot to learn. The one specific goal I have for this class is to make a landscape drawing or painting that looks realistic.Â
Reflecting on my goals for the semester:
My main goal for this class was to draw or paint a landscape or something realistic. I achieved that in many drawings and some paintings, as shown below:
This artwork leaves a lot to be desired, like the ear on the half portrait or the face on the unsung hero painting. However, before I took this class my best drawing of a face that I ever drew was a smiley face. Literally, I never tried to draw a realistic drawing ever before taking this class. Because of that, I am very happy with all of my artwork even though it is imperfect. I would say I met my goal that I set of making realistic drawings, though we didn't get to the landscape watercolors in this class.
