To experiment, explore, and learn a variety of watercolor painting techniques;
To use knowledge of landscape strategies to create a final watercolor landscape
My family and I one night decided to go out somewhere. We decided to get some food at a grocery store and eat while watching the sunset. This was taken during that time.

During this project, I have learned a lot of new things. The first thing is that even watercolor paper is fragile, so I learned to be careful and to not "over layer" after many failed attempts. I've also learned to be more patient when I paint. If I didn't do this and painted over wet paint, then it would mess up my painting. Now, at the end, I knew I had to be patient in order to have a successful painting. Another thing that made this project look good was the techniques I used. At first, I didn't know much about them. Before I incorporated them in my painting, I practiced multiple times to get it perfect. To add along with that, these techniques helped create depth and and texture. Which are whisking and stamping to help create texture to the grass, changing pressure and stippling for the trees and the wet and wet technique with dry brushing to create the ocean and background. As I was nearing the end of my painting I had made a mistake. I was confused at first on why it happened, since this didn't happen before, but I then learned the reason why. I used too much water and it created a puddle on my paper. I then waited patiently for everything to dry and use less water which fixed the problem. Because of my mistakes and the techniques I grabbed along the way, painting this watercolor painting made me learn a lot.
