My fifth and last day! May 26, 2023

In this last day of job shadowing. we've gone to the park to see an art class, we've observed a reading activity at Pontenure school library, we've attended a music workshop and a music lesson and we have observed another vertical science class, this time at Pontenure.

Above, you can see some pictures of the activity at the school library.

On our last day of job shadowing, we”ve done many things.

We accompanied a class of 1st grade secondary students to the park (Parco Raggio), where they had an art class which consisting of drawing and painting a tree (the largest and oldest tree in the park) in different formats. Using an app, students could identify the Pantone colours of the tree and then they had to imitate those colours with watercolours.

Then we attended an Italian lesson at the school library with a Primary 4th grade class group. They read a book titled The fantastic flying books of Mr Morris Lessmore, written by William Joyce and illustrated by Joe Bluhm, and after reading the story they talked about the book and especially about the main character, who is a writer, so they discussed the reasons that may have had that character to write so much.

After that, students made an activity to turn the story they read into a theater play. The teacher gave some cards to the students with different roles or tasks written on them. For example, some students had to play a character of the story, whereas others had to find books of a certain genre in the library shelves  (and thus they could learn how the library is organized) or they had to be the choreographers of the play.

Our next class was a music lab with 2nd and 3rd grade secondary students. In this lab they practiced the songs that they would play during the Open Day of 1st June. All the songs were from ABBA and they replaced the lyrics with the sound of their flutes.

Afterwards, we’ve finished our tasks in Pontenure school by observing a science class with 5th grade secondary students which had the same topic than the class we observed at Roveleto: the structure of cells from the human body.

Above, some pictures of the art class, the music lab and the science "vertical" lesson.
