A WINDOW TO BARRUFET SCHOOL - SPORTS

In Barrufet school we love Physical Education. During the school year we participate, together with other fourteen schools in Sant Boi, in a Town Hall Sports Department project.

From October to May some specialized teachers from some sports organizations (“Club d’atletisme Sant Boi”, “Club Beisbol i Softbol Sant Boi”, “Unió esportiva Santboiana”–rugby-, “Club Handbol Sant Boi” and “Club Voleibol Sant Boi”) promote and teach the foundations of these “not so popular” sports comparing with football or basketball.

From the 4th grade to the 6th grade we learn and play Handball, Athletics, Rugby, Baseball and Volleyball (eight sessions each) and at the end of every “discipline” we play a final match in a closing activity where we meet the other schools.

Here you can read some opinions :

"I like baseball because you run, you learn how to throw the ball, you need concentration and speed…

I’m happy because at school we can practice now different sports, not only football.

My baseball team won “Catalonia’s baseball prize” last year."

Toni Cortés -5th grade (Barrufet school)

"I like rugby. I never played rugby before but I like it because it’s different to football.

In rugby you can catch the ball with your hands and control it. I like rugby because it’s important to be in a coordinated team and I like to work in a team."
