The Wyoming Girls School academic program is a fully accredited junior high/high school program where students have the opportunity to earn credit toward future graduation. Our accrediting agency, Cognia, monitors our program on an annual basis, ensuring the WGS educates students with up-to-date and research-based practices.
The education staff consists of a principal, a registrar, highly qualified teachers, and a paraprofessional.
Curriculum is aligned to current Wyoming State Standards, and all classes are taught by highly qualified teachers. Courses offered include all core subject areas, as well as a variety of electives including horsemanship, ceramics, ice hockey, drama, sewing, and horticulture. The WGS education program is year-round and utilizes the block schedule; thus, making transition to home districts as smooth as possible. The teaching staff at the WGS strives to maximize individual student academic and social growth while they are in our care.
All students in grades 7 through 10 participate in the WyTOPP (Wyoming Test of Progress and Proficiency), and those in grade 11 take the ACT if they reside at the WGS during annual testing windows.
Students who meet graduation requirements or who have successfully completed the HiSET have the opportunity to participate in a graduation ceremony.
