The WGS Nursing Department consists of two Registered Nurses who provide skilled nursing services for acute and chronic conditions, identify and help residents work towards health goals set through individualized care planning, and promote health through preventative health practices.
WGS offers preventative health practices including administration of school required and recommended immunizations per Advisory Council on Immunization Practices (ACIP) as set forth by the CDC, health education.
Recommended well child screenings modeled after the Bright Futures Guidelines for Health Supervision of Adolescents and sick visits as needed during residency at WGS
WGS Nursing department coordinates with outside providers for dental, vision, and medical care.
Residents have access to mental health providers via telehealth for medication management and evaluation.
WGS provides services to pregnant and parenting teens via prenatal care, parenting classes and transition services.
WGS Nursing Department offers Heartsaver First Aid/CPR classes quarterly as part of the curriculum in a nurse-led health class and a nurse aide training (CNA) program annually in conjunction with academic credit.

The Wyoming Girls School utilizes a blend of on-site and off-site psychotherapy. WGS offers one-on-one therapy on site, or if a resident already has an established therapist from her hometown, she will continue to see that therapist via telehealth.
The WGS is able to provide therapy groups such as a substance abuse group. WGS also offers equine therapy, either in a therapy group setting or one-on-one using the four horses that live on the site. Other therapies the WGS therapist is certified in include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
