Minimum Requirements
US Citizen
Must be 20 years and 180 days of age at the time you apply
Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., no college required
No felony convictions or offenses that would be a felony if committed in Texas
Normal hearing in both ears and vision that is correctable to 20/40 binocular
Must pass a departmental background investigation, polygraph, medical, and psychological evaluation prior to being hired
Must possess a valid driver license (if out of state, be eligible to obtain valid Texas Drivers License)
Acceptable driving history

Work Schedule
Work Schedule
Patrol Officers in the Patrol Division work 12 hour shifts with alternating Saturdays. School Resource Officers work Monday - Friday 8 hours each day. Detectives and full time Specialized Units work either Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 10 hours each day.
