As stated before, my overall goal with my take action piece was to be able to learn enough about Taiwanese & Chinese culture to bring a piece of it back here and know enough about my own to leave a piece there. To do this I'll have to step outside of my comfort zone to soak up as many experiences possible and in the end come up with a tangible product, this website, to show Americans Taiwanese life!
The first step of this plan was making the plan possible. While I went into it thinking I knew what I wanted, the actual process took a lot of flexibility, time, and money. I didn't even intend on going to Taiwan until months into the process, when I finally settled on ASSE as my exchange organization of choice! Even then the process of getting a placement and actually going to Taiwan took months, so many months I started to doubt it would happen at all. And yet, after over a year of planning, I was finally on that flight from LAX to Taoyuan Airport and beginning my journey in Taiwan. But getting there was only the start of my project! Check out my blog page to see the rest of my journey and the things about Taiwan I want to share with the world!
