The past month I've been working tirelessly on getting my capstone project started. So far I've received my host family placement as well as my school placement! All within a few days of the school year starting. To get the most out of my study abroad experience I've been rushing to get all the paper work required to get my visa and have begun buying things I may need for my months abroad, such as various medicines and packing cubes. On the Winton Woods side, I met with my advisor, Mrs. Albers, and we quickly developed a plan for my project that I can complete in Taiwan, with the help of Mr. Lock. The SDG I ended up picking out is SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities. One of the targets within this SDG talks about preserving and strengthening the world's cultural heritage which I think I can accomplish with my study abroad. One idea that we came up with to do that is hold a session or multiple in Taiwan and America where I teach and talk about common misconceptions that appear within both cultures.

My study abroad in Taiwan ended in February, but that doesn't mean the end of my Chinese studies. In college, I hope to go back to Taiwan or even Mainland China and eventually become fluent in Chinese.
As for the friends I made in Taiwan, I still keep in contact with some of them and are constantly sharing pieces of home with them.
