In order to build a sense of empathy among our students and bring new voices to the table, The Westwood Regional High School ELA Teachers are currently collaborating with Dr. Kim Parker (award winning Literacy & Equity expert and founder of the "disrupt text" movement). Together, we are researching texts by diverse authors to incorporate into the curriculum during the 2021-2022 school year. Our Friday Zoom sessions have also included discussions on how to approach the topic of race and racism with our students.
