Physical education provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. High School students are required to take a minimum of two years of physical education at Walnut High School. Physical education can provide students with the ability and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime. All freshmen students begin Physical Education with the Kinesiology class; however, there is an opportunity to fulfill their PE requirement in Dance as a freshman as well. By a student's sophomore year, there is opportunity to take Team Sports OR to select a specialty class.
