Academic Foundations is a program specifically designed for 9th grade students that teaches World History, and English to the same students. This program benefits freshmen because not only is curriculum thoroughly taught, but skills such as organization, note-taking, in-depth analysis, and successful studying techniques are at the core of every class.
Academic Foundations helps students transition from middle school to high school while building a small community of students building last relationships with each other. Academic Foundation students have went on to take AP, IB, and PLTW classes, join our ADP program, or choose the many pathways Walnut High School has to offer. Our goal in Academic Foundations is to equip you with all the skills you need to succeed during your four years at Walnut High School.
