Google Slides is a presentation system program which will allow you to create, edit and collaborate with others on presentations. This tool allows you to create presentation slides without having any specific application being downloaded to your PC.
The interface of Google Slides is very similar to the Microsoft Office programme Powerpoint, and you can upload and update presentations you have created in Powerpoint in Google Slides. All presentations created will be saved directly to your own Google Drive, so you will never have to use external hard-drives or USBs to save your work.
As all Google Applications are linked together, you can link information created in other documents to your presentation slides and allows you to collaborate even further.
This video provides a quick presentation on some of the features available on Google Slides and how you can use these to further your work.
When using Google Slides, you can curate your own presentation using Background, Theme, Layout and Transition options that are available. There are also many different pre-set Themes which are available on Google Slides to jazz up any presentation that you create.
Background - The Background option allows you to set the colour scheme for the presentation or for one individual slide. You can upload images from your Google Drive, or from your desktop to include in the presentation.
Theme - The Theme option allows you to choose from the pre-set Themes which are available from Google Slides to decorate your presentation.
Layout - This allows you to change the layout of the slide that you are currently on and provides some preset options, or you can have the layout blank to create your own design.
Transition - This allows you to change how the presentation flows. By adding transitions such as Dissolves and Fades, you can present your information in more interesting ways.
Slidesgo is a website which allows you to download FREE Google Slides templates which are sent straight to your Google Drive.
With hundreds of different templates, which are categorised into different themes such as Art and Business, you will be able to find something that will help to jazz up any future presentation.
