WV Integrated Report Interactive Tool
To address the requirement, WVDEP Water Quality Standards and Assessment Section (WQSAS) has developed an Integrated Water Quality Assessment Report including the 303(d) List of impaired streams and lakes.
This interactive tool supports the Integrated Report.

When considering how to interpret the data in this report, consider two major programmatic goals:
1) Characterizing overall water quality in West Virginia using the Probabilistic Program
2) Identifying pollution through Monitoring Efforts and developing restoration plans.
Goal 1: Probabilistic (Random) Sampling Program
Water bodies in West Virginia are assessed for long-term planning/reporting. Currently, limited or no data exists specifically for 58.9% of these water bodies. The benefit of the Probabilistic Program is that it is statistically valid to apply the results to characterize all waters of the State, even the “unassessed” water bodies.

Goal 2: Monitoring Efforts
For more than 20 years, WVDEP has utilized monitoring efforts in order to:
Document impairment
Plan for restoration
Qualify for federal clean-up funding
