Cultivates Community Partnerships
Cultivates partnerships within the school and local community (including families and caregivers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public and higher education libraries, businesses) to promote engagement and a community of readers.
Early 2000s - joined the Lakeshores Public Library System for a unique opportunity to join their consortium of public libraries; this joing venture opened so many opportunities for our students in terms of access to resources. In fact, to my knowledge, we are the ONLY high school library in Wisconsin to be connected to a public library consortium, which means we have a delivery system that allows for sharing between our high school library and a vast number of public libraries.
Spring 2023 - Merge of Lakeshores Library System with Arrowhead Library System expands consoritium library access
Summer 2021 & 2022 - Enlisted representatives from Waterford Public Library to come to registration, offering students the opportunity to secure a public library card, which will enable them to access even more resources in addition to what we can offer
Ongoing - annual meetings with library media specialists in Southern Lakes Conference to share best practices in library media field
Since 2015 - adopted social media account to reach more students
