Algebra 2

Fall Semester 2023

Block  1 - Algebra 2 Honors

Room: 238

Time: 7:50 AM - 9:20 AM

Notes, lessons, assignments, and important course materials will be posted to Google Classroom daily. If you are absent, please review Google Classroom to find missed notes and assignments prior to emailing Mr. Demcher.

The content of Algebra 2 is organized around families of functions, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, radical, and rational functions. As students study each family of functions, they will learn to represent them in multiple ways––as verbal descriptions, equations, tables, and graphs. They will also learn to model real-world situations using functions in order to solve problems arising from those situations. In addition to its algebra content, Algebra 2 includes lessons on probability and data analysis as well as numerous examples and exercises involving geometry and trigonometry. These math topics will appear on standardized tests, so maintaining students’ familiarity with them is important. To help students prepare for these standardized tests, Algebra 2 provides instruction and practice on standardized test questions in a variety of formats––multiple choice, short response, and extended response.

Absent from class?

If you are absent from class, you have 2 days to make up the assignment for each day you were absent.

For example: If you are absent on a Monday, and you return to school on Tuesday. You will have Tuesday and Wednesday to make up the assignment for submission on Thursday.

As a reminder, notes, assignments, and resources are posted on Google Classroom to review prior to returning to school.
